Sorbonne University - Semester 2 - 2020/2021

Sorbonne University will host the IMBRSEA students for 3 units in Banyuls-sur-Mer (Concepts and Practices in Biological Oceanography and Marine Ecology - Part 1, 2 and 3) from the 15th of February 2021 during 9 weeks. The CPOB 2 and 3 are joint class with the 'Master of Sciences de la Mer' of Sorbonne University. In a normal situation, the students are accommodated in the marine station (rent covered by the student!) and they receive lectures and they attend practical labs and field trips.

So for semester 2 in 2021, education will range from the best scenario, fully on site (if the sanitary situation allows it) to fully online in the worst scenario (even from the beginning). A middle scenario is that the teaching will start on site and will need to move to remote mode. It is also possible that teaching starts remote and after few a weeks switches to in on-site mode.

If on-site education is possible then teaching will only be presential and all students must attend the teaching on-site because most of the education is based on lab and field trip.

The accommodation at the marine station will be possible only if the sanitary situation allows it. In case of a strengthening of the rules, students will be ask to leave the station. The administrative staff in Banyuls can help students by providing a list of possible accommodation (already from the beginning for those willing to stay outside the whole period).  In this case, students are expected to rent themselves the accommodation but the faculty and administrative team will help them to translate the documents and understand the renting contract.
