The University of Liège (ULiège) is one of the three main and complete Universities of the French speaking Community of Belgium, hosting 24 000 students, which 23 % are foreign. 24% of our graduates have an experience abroad and 41% of our doctoral students are foreigners. ULiège was ranked 201 worldwide in the 2007 Time Higher Education, 9th in the 2008 top-10 international ranking of The Scientist for post-docs and has been awarded the ECTS and DS Labels since 2009 and has been renewed until 2016.
ULiège is a member of the European EURAXESS (European Research Area - Mobility of Researcher) and has established the Centre of Mobility of the University of Liege who can help doctoral students with practical aspects and has been rewarded the European Human resources Strategy Label for researchers .
It hosts 850 incoming students and sends 705 students abroad. It has concluded more than 1500 international agreements in the framework of Erasmus programme as well as worldwide.
ULiège takes part in 7 Erasmus Mundus programmes: 5 joint masters among which we coordinate 2 (EMSHIP and EMERALD) and 2 Joint Doctorates. We also take part in 12 editions of Erasmus Mundus Partnerships, 7 KA2 strategic partnerships (1 as coordinator). We took part in several Tempus projects, in 4 running capacity building projects and in 2 “Sport not for profit European Sport events”. In the field of research, ULiège conducts 35 projects FP7 and 34 in H2020 and 10 ERC grants.
