IMBRSea Symposium 2026

 

The annual IMBRSea’s "Diving into Marine Minds" Symposium is a very important event for our Master Program. It is where the graduating second-year students and teachers meet to exchange experiences and knowledge. During this symposium, second-year students present their thesis work.

 

The 2026 edition will take place in Plentzia, Spain at the University of the Basque Country from Tuesday the 30th of June until Friday the 3rd of July.

Thesis presentations

Thesis presentations will also be streamed live on Youtube and can be accessed through Matix.

Each thesis is presented through an oral presentation followed by a public debate with both thesis evaluators and the public present in the room. Students have 15 minutes to present their thesis followed by a 15 minutes discussion in which questions will be answered.

Evaluation

Thesis presentations account for 25% of the final grade. They are evaluated on the following aspects: Visual appearance, Content, Speaker's capacity, and General approach to the topic.
